A Turtle in the Seine

Not gonna lie, we were very confused. On the Ile Saint Louis, on the southeastern tip, at the bottom of the quai, we spotted what looked like a significantly sized turtle. Was it alive? A sculpture? Had anyone called Animal Control? Did the nearby swans vex it?

We did not get too close to the turtle, since it was surrounded by those damn swans and honestly I worry more about being attacked by them than by a bear. But then, on another day strolling past, we saw it again. At that point I did a deep dive on the internet and discovered that yes, it is a sculpture, but it is made of wood and floats, which is why it appears to be alive. Very clever.

That little bump down at the bottom....

But compare it to the swans. A big turtle, if not a giant one.

On another day. But it's moved...a little.
